The Keeyask Generating Station is the newest hydroelectric power plant in Canada. It will provide 4,400 gigawatt hours of clean, renewable electricity annually. It is the latest addition to Manitoba Hydro’s portfolio of hydropower facilities. Construction began in 2014. The work faced challenges of weather and the pandemic over that time. The facility was developed through a partnership of Manitoba Hydro and 4 Cree Nations.
