Steven Guilbeault, Minister of Environment and Climate Change and the Jonathan Wilkinson, Minister of Natural Resources are both attending the G7 Climate, Energy, and the Environment meetings in Berlin from 25 May to 27 May. In the opening session, host Germany called for the G7 to lead the way on replacing coal as an energy source. Ministers will also seek to agree on boosting financial aid for poor countries to cope with climate change, as well as additional funds for biodiversity, protecting oceans, and reducing plastic pollution.
