Canadian Energy Person of the Year 2010
Stephen G. Snyder- President and CEO, TransAlta Corporation
Through their forward thinking and innovative spirit, these leaders promote the Canadian energy sector and Canada’s role as a major player in the world energy market.
The Canadian Energy Person of the Year Award was established by the Energy Council of Canada, supported by the sectoral energy associations of Canada, to recognize and pay tribute to leaders in Canada who have made a significant contribution to Canada’s energy sector both nationally and internationally. We are pleased to announce Stephen G. Snyder has been chosen as the 2010 recipient.
The Canadian Energy Person of the Year is nominated for this prestigious annual award based on their remarkable accomplishments in the energy business or government sectors, as well as the community at large.
One of their foremost characteristics is their strong sense of social responsibility and belief in giving back to the community by focusing on environmental and social issues, and economic development. At the gala we will be presenting a gift in Stephen’s name to the Calgary Homeless Foundation.
The Canadian Energy Person of the Year serves as an ambassador of our nation’s energy sector, demonstrating a clear vision and commitment to fostering the sustainable use and development of energy for the benefit of all.
We have put together a full range of sponsorship opportunities. Participation will provide you with high visibility in the media and advertising, at the event itself, and subsequently in the publication of Stephen’s speech. Sponsorship also includes a table for eight at the award dinner and celebration.
We look forward to your support to pay tribute to a leader who has made a remarkable contribution and put a human face to the Canadian energy industry.
The evening will start with a reception at 6:00 p.m., followed by the formal presentation and dinner at 7:00 p.m. This will be a black tie optional event.
